What is something you learned from this article? (3-4 sentences)
In this article, I learned about the different kinds of dark patterns and how designers can choose to use their knowledge for good or for bad. Dark patterns take advantage of attention that consumers dedicate to things based on size or typology, taking advantage of the consumer. This article showed that creative processes can also take advantage of the viewer and that one has to be aware of manipulative practices.
What was your favorite part of this article? (3-4 sentences)
I liked the examples because I have definitely been tricked and manipulated by most of the examples shown. One that particularly stood out to me was the fake headlines. Many people don't actually click on headlines and take clickbait information at face value which harms society and political discourse.
